I understand that theres gotta be dreams for the massess, but how come there cant be higher end dreams? Not all of us are stuck using low end computers. How come there cant be some dreams for us that have up to date computers?

I am the lowest denominator?

Everytime I think I'm caught up...

There are a few high resolution dreams but some of the dreams are created on lower end hardware soooooooo.....

How come you are asking someone to do this when you could render using your high powered PC and give back?

Why do we have to cater to the lowest common denominator?

"We" aren't catering to anybody.

Hey Dragoro are you being an elitist? Are you the kind of person Frogboy was talking about a little while back? Have you no sense of Community? Not all of us can drop a couple thou on a new rig to run the Almighty Vista Ultimate! I resent your post!

I'm just a tad curious, if I may ask: Just what IS this "higher end" dream you speak of that "lower end" machines can't run? Do you require ungodly resolutions and anything below 1080p is completely unacceptable? Is the quality of the artwork being presented here by both Stardock and the wonderful individual artist not quite up to par with your definition of "high end"? Is there something I'm missing?

Don't take this post the wrong way, please. I truly am 100% genuinely curious about your post. I simply want a little more details concerning your comments, thats all.

I don't see anything wrong with the post, I don't see anything elitist about it at all. It seems like a genuine questions as to why dreams for more "capable" pc's aren't being made (apparently). As I see it, people who have the money to get Vista must already have pretty good computers in the first place (lord knows I'm not one of them).

Sometimes one size *doesn't* fit all. It's called variation...some "standard" dreams as well as the more high quality ones. More the merrier and something for everyone.

I agree. I think first of all, 'attitude' can be read into things when you can't 'hear' the tone. Secondly, lowly XP users like myself (lol) will be asking the opposite soon enough as everything moves more and more towards Vista.

I think th OP could have asked the same question in a better manner and not come off like someone who is owed something.

His question does have some value but without quantitative details on what is low end, what is high-end, what is wrong with the current dreams, and what he would like out of future dreams it's near impossible to answer.

Tone is always hard to convey in text, maybe Dagoro wants to try again?

Very True..

That's kind of what I wanted to achieve with my post. I know (or at least think) that he has a very valid point, but he just found a really bad way of expressing himself. Frankly I think if the OP were to restate his post with more details and perhaps find a better way or ironing out that tone found in the first post, we'd get somewhere.

This is a perfect example of "$h!t and run" it happens all the time people come in complain and leave. No need to call out the militia. I have really nothing to offer the community I can make simple log-ons and I've only ever had one really good one. I can't give much therefore I don't ask for much. I just wish I had skills other than photography.

Exactly my friend. I have only been here with Wincustomize since DreamScene was released, which isnt much. In that short timeframe I haven't contributed a single piece of anything, and seeing as how I lack any artistic skill whatsoever, I dont plan to. Saying all of that, what right do I have to _itch and moan about this and that? I would accept someone making an argument against that for premium content, but considering the pricetag even that doesn't hold together very strongly.

As cliche as it sounds - beggars cant be choosers.

In defense [if that is what I have to call it] of Dragoro ...I was talking to him just this morning in irc. He had a minor problem with ObjectDock+ not being nice with his Vista machine, and I was helping him with it.

The whole time we were talking, he was extremely polite, very patient [as there were times I had to just leave him there waiting for my response, as I'm at work] and had absolutely no 'undertone' in his conversation with me. It was refreshing.

This is the problem with forums ...people DO read more into a post than is actually there, and I think this is a result of people coming to expect there will be a nasty person amongst the good ones, as this is the nature of the beast [read: internet] we are using as our medium.

In this case, Dragoro is NOT the bad guy, and although I don't know him personally, from the conversation we had today I'd say he meant well but did'nt get the message across as intended.

Back to topic please....

By the way ... I firmly believe that what we've seen so far by way of .dreams ...is just the tip of the iceberg.
